How to use
- Drop MKV videos into the box above.
- When the MP4 file is ready, tap Save.
Good to know
MKV can hold multiple audio and subtitle tracks, but phones, TVs and editors often cannot open it. If the video inside is H.264, it becomes MP4 in seconds without re-encoding.
A video format (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV) is a container; the video and audio codecs inside are separate. When only the container changes (e.g. iPhone MOV to MP4), it finishes in seconds without re-encoding and keeps full quality.
When the codec must change too (e.g. WebM to MP4), the browser’s encoder rebuilds the video, which can take about as long as the video.
FAQ
Does it support AVI or WMV?
MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV are supported for now. Results are saved as widely playable MP4 (H.264) by default, or as WebM in browsers that cannot create MP4.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Videos are processed inside this browser and never sent anywhere. Because your own device does the work, long videos take a while and files over 2 GB may fail on phones.
