How to use
- Press Start to begin a 25-minute focus session. Work on one task only.
- When it ends, a sound plays and a 5-minute break starts automatically. Every 4th round you get a 15-minute long break.
- Change focus and break lengths in Settings. Your sessions for today are counted automatically.
Good to know
The Pomodoro Technique was created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s and is named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used (pomodoro is Italian for tomato). Short, focused sprints with regular breaks reduce fatigue and make it easier to start tasks you’d rather avoid.
If a distraction pops up during a session, jot it down and get right back to work. During breaks, step away from the screen — stretch, drink water or walk around.
If 25 minutes feels too short, try 50 minutes of focus and 10 minutes of rest. What matters most is keeping the rhythm of focus and rest.
FAQ
Will it alert me if I’m in another tab?
Yes. As long as this tab is open, the sound plays and the tab title shows the time left. It may pause if your computer goes to sleep.
Where is my daily count stored?
Only in this browser. It resets to zero each new day.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Turn on “Keep screen on while running” so the screen stays awake and you don’t miss the alert.
